Vintage Rimowa Aluminum Trunk with Wheels-Made in Germany pre LMVH

Vintage Rimowa Aluminum Trunk with Wheels, made in Germany by Rimowa before the company was acquired by the luxury brand group LVMH.  This particular model was rarely imported to the United States, and was designed and built by Rimowa when durability, design and build quality took precedence over luxury brand recognition. I purchased it around 2000 or 2001, and never used it in the field or for travel. The condition is excellent, although it shows some scratches as displayed in the photos which are from storage. The lining is completely intact and unstained, and I believe the scratches on the top and bottom could be polished out without difficulty. There are no dents or significant flaws. The slight haze apparent in some of the photos is simply due to the fact that I took the trunk outside from an air-conditioned room on a day when the temperature is in the high 90's.
The latches, handles and locks function perfectly, and the trunk come with one key.
The pictures also illustrate that the trunk is stamped by Rimowa and the hinges state that the trunk was made in Germany. The serial number is stamped on the trunk as shown and is 70690020000023. The trunk measures about 36" long x 21" front to back x 12" high and weighs about 38 pounds. (Shipping on this item will not be cheap.)
While Rimowa continues to manufacture very high quality products as part of the LVMH Group, vintage Rimowa products are much in demand, and few are sold in the USA at present. Condition is "Pre-owned" but overall excellent, with no odors, dents, or stains in the lining.
